Akemi Sato (佐藤 明美 Satō Akemi) is the hostess at Bar Yokosuka in Dobuita, Yokosuka, Japan in the game Shenmue.
Biography[]
Akemi began working at Bar Yokosuka after being introduced to the bartender, Teruhiko Saijo by a friend shortly after graduating from high school. Akemi has many admirers, including Fuku-san, who frequently drinks there just to be near her. Before the incident, he came in quite often, but his grief and depression have prevented him from coming by recently. Akemi seems to be a bit concerned about him, or perhaps she simply misses his company.
Shenmue[]
If Ryo Hazuki goes to Bar Yokosuka on the night after Nozomi Harasaki confesses her feelings for him, Akemi will tell him that Fuku-san called the bar saying that his friends are waiting for him at their house. Saijo-san said that was just an excuse for Fuku-san to talk to Akemi.
Shenmue III[]
Although Akemi does not appear in Shenmue III, Fuku-san will mention her if Ryo calls him at Hotel Niaowu. He will reveal that they were dating, but broke up and he's really upset about it. Ryo can choose which advice to give him to cope.

- The name Akemi means "bright, light, clear" (明) (ake) and "beautiful" (美) (mi).
- Akemi's surname Sato means "help, aid" (佐) (sa) and "wisteria" (藤) (to).
