Cassette Player (Boombox) is an item available as a raffle prize in the game Shenmue.
How to Obtain[]
Prize[]
Ryo Hazuki can win the Cassette Player (Boombox) from the raffle - Which is accessible within both the Tomato Convenience Store (Dobuita) and Tomato conveniece store within the Harbor Lounge. To enter Ryo must purchase one of the following:
- One of the Cassette Tapes
- Caramel
- Chocolate
- Potato Chips
If Ryo draws a 1st prize ticket he will be able to chooese between 3 different colors - Black, Red, Silver.
Use[]
Ryo can use the Cassette Player (Boombox) at his desk at the Hazuki Residence. He can play the Cassette Tapes he has found and won throughout his journey.
Shenmue the Animation[]

Ryo also owns the silver boombox in Shenmue the Animation. It can be seen on his desk in his room in Episode 2.
Trivia[]
- It is not possible for Ryo to own all three different color boomboxes at the same time. If Ryo wins another color, it will replace the one he already owns.
- Tom Johnson also has a red boombox at his hot dog truck, and Ryo is free to use it to play his cassette tapes.
- Cool Z in the game Shenmue II also has a red boombox that he carries around with him all the time.
