Ryo in Forklift Racing in Shenmue.
A forklift (フォークリフト Fōkurifuto) is a powered industrial truck used to lift crates.
In the first game, Ryo Hazuki uses forklift No.5 when he works at the New Yokosuka Harbor District harbor and participates in daily warm-up races and moves crates to the warehouses.
In the third game, the forklift is an optional mini-game job in Niaowu. Ryo can unlock arcade cabinets in the arcade via this.
Shenmue[]

Ryo gets a forklift job while searching for the Mad Angels at the harbor. The first task Ryo must do daily when he arrives at work, is participate in daily Forklift Racing with his co-workers. Depending on what place Ryo got in the race, he can earn a forklift Capsule Toy.
After the warm-up race, Mark Kimberly will give Ryo a route map saying where the crates must be transported to and the quota for the day. Each time Ryo exceeds his quota, he will be given a 50 yen raise per crate. It is possible to get no pay if Ryo doesn't do any work, this will make the foreman Ryozo Yada very angry.
After getting into so much trouble with the sailors and Mad Angels during work, Yada-san fires Ryo. He understands that it's not all his fault, but needs to let him go due to the trouble affecting his company.
Shenmue II[]
In the Free Stay Lodge at the ship arrival dock, Ryo can obtain the Forklift Blue and Forklift Red collectibles that he can also earn at the Tomato Convenience Store in the New Yokosuka Harbor District.
In the Green Market Quarter, Wan Chai, Ryo can obtain the forklift capsule toys that he could win from the forklift races at the harbor from a box in the Vacant Lot after meeting Izumi Takano and Eileen M. Edelweiss.
Shenmue III[]

The Forklift Part-Time Job is loacted in Niaowu. When Ryo meets Dejing Hong at the Ferry Terminal, he will plead Ryo for assistance. The Forklift job requires Ryo to transport various crates and items from Warehouse No.1 to a ship located at the Niaowu Harbor port. The route can vary on different attempts at the job.
When calling Goro Mihashi at Hotel Niaowu, Ryo can learn depending on what dialogue option the player chooses that Goro got his old job as a forklift operator at the Yokosuka Harbor and that he's seen as a legend there for defeating the Mad Angels.
Shenmue the Animation[]
In Episode 4 of Shenmue the Animation, Ryo gets a job as a forklift operator at the harbor like how he does in the game. In Episode 5, Mark along with Goro and Mai Sawano use a forklift to help rescue Nozomi Harasaki when she is held hostage by the Mad Angels. Ryo also quits his job rather than getting fired like in the game.

If the player unleashes Ryo's all-star move he changes from Naoyuki's motorcycle to the forklift. Also Ryo riding the forklift can be playable as Downloadable Content that can be purchased from Xbox Live or PSN.
