Goro Ono (小野 五郎 Ono Gorō) is a retired mechanic who owns and operates the Knocking Motorcycle Shop in Dobuita, Yokosuka.
Background[]
Before Ono retired, he worked for a major motorcycle manufacturer, but now he spends his time tuning and repairing motorcycles. He is quite renowned in the area among motorcycle enthusiasts for his excellent technique and skill. One time, Ono went to a motorcycle race in Malaysia. Asia Travel Co. did not reserve the hotel for him and it was a big hassle for him.
Shenmue[]
Ono can usually be found repairing motorcycles outside of his shop in Dobuita. When Ryo Hazuki talks to him for the first time, he'll ask if Ryo's doing okay since he heard about his father's passing and that he was having a hard time. Talking to Ono after this conversation will have him try to help Ryo the best he can with any questions he has.
Shenmue the Animation[]

Ono very briefly appears in Shenmue the Animation Episode 2. When Ryo asks him about Charlie Grant, he gives him some information on him.
Etymology[]
- The name Goro means "five" (五) (go) and "son" (郎) (ro).
- Goro's surname Ono means "small" (小) (o) and "field, wilderness" (野) (no).
