With no progress on convincing Iwao to give up the mirror Lan Di approaches Ryo, picking up his limp body in his grasp. "Hand over the mirror or else you son!". As Lan Di is about to strike, Iwao begs him to stop. Iwao reveals the mirror is burried beneath the Cherry Tree outside the dojo. The henchmen go verify this. Meanwhile Land Di addressing Iwao asks "Do you remember Zhao Sun Ming? that's the name of the man you killed in Meng Cun." Iwao in disbelief replies at who Lan Di is. "Get up. I'll allow you to die like a warrior." Lan Di strikes Iwao to the ground. The henchmen return with the mirror in a chest, Lan Di examines it in his hand with his Chi You Men tattoo in sight. Content, he then leaves the dojo with the henchmen. Ryo crawls over to his father, grasping him in his arms. "Your friends... keep friends, those you love, close to you..." Iwao draws his last breath as Ryo cries at the lost of his father.

4 Days Later... Ryo meets with Fuku-san in the Dojo. Ryo asks Fuku-san if he knew anything about the men who appeared. Ryo then vows to get his revenge on those who killed his father.

Later in the game, Ryo investigates the dojo to find some mysterious clues, a locked chest & two symbols behind the two hanging wall scrolls.

To unlock the chest, Ryo must retrieve the Mysterious Key from Iwao's room in the desk drawer. Inside the chest is a katana that can be inserted into the symbol on the wall of the dojo to the right side.
