This guidebook was released in Japan only on October 17th, 2001. It is a part of the Dorimaga Books series and was published by SoftBank Publishing. It had a retail price of ¥1,800 (about 12.24 US dollars).

Due to the guide being only released in Japan, there is only Japanese text, and no English text version is available.
It covers a walkthrough for the Dreamcast version of Shenmue II. It includes artwork, guides to extra/alternate scenes, a list of all the collectibles and items, mini-game guides, a list of every location and maps for each area, profiles for the main characters, and the names and roles/affiliations for every single other character in the game, including the 'passerby' characters. The Japanese Shenmue II Perfect Guidebook also lists all the characters' ages, birthdates, height/weight, etc., but does not list the 'passerby' characters' names or details.
