This guidebook was released in Japan only on October 16th, 2001, and is a part of the Kanpeki Kouryaku Series (Dreamcast Vol. 9). It had a retail price of ¥1,600 (about 10.62 US dollars).

Due to the guide being only released in Japan, there is only Japanese text, and no English text version is available.
It covers everything there is to know when playing the Dreamcast version of Shenmue II, including a walkthrough, guides to extra/alternate scenes, mini-game guides, a list of all the collectibles and items, and profiles for every character in the game (Their names, role/affiliation, ages, birthdates, height/weight, etc.). However, it does not include the profiles for the 'passerby' characters. The Japanese Shenmue II Complete Guide book lists all the 'passerby' characters' names, but does not list their ages, birthdates, height/weight, etc.
