Teruhiko Saijo (西条 輝彦 Saijō Teruhiko) is the bartender of Bar Yokosuka in Dobuita.
Background[]
He used to travel around the world as a navigation officer when he was young. Saijo later decided to end his connections with the industry after he had a dispute with his company over money. He once visited the Bar Yokosuka by chance and immediately fell in love with the place. He has been working as a bartender there ever since.
Personality[]

Saijo, unlike the other bartenders in Dobuita, is very kind to Ryo Hazuki and tries his best to help him out whenever he needs it. Saijo also excels at making cocktails and frequently develops his own originals.
Shenmue the Animation[]
Saijo as he appears in Shenmue the Animation.
Saijo appears in Shenmue the Animation Episode 2. Ryo enters Bar Yokosuka to ask Saijo if he knows where he can find people that are a part of the Chinese underworld. He suggests that he goes to Heartbeats bar, as those type of people are there.
Etymology[]
- The name Teruhiko means "radiance, shine, sparkle, gleam, twinkle, brightness" (輝) (teru) and "boy, prince" (彦) (hiko).
- Teruhiko's surname Saijo means "west" (西) (sai) and "article" (条) (jo).
