The Thousand White Convent (白千修道院 Bái Qiān Xiūdàoyuàn) is located on the 3rd floor of the Thousand White Building in the Thousand White Quarter, Kowloon, Hong Kong in the game Shenmue II.
The balcony to the convent can also be accessed from the 4th floor.
Shenmue II[]
Xiuying Hong brings Ryo Hazuki here after he gets injured from fighting Dou Niu. In Xiuying's childhood, she and her brother, Ziming Hong, grew up at the convent after they were orphaned when their parents were murdered.
Regional differences[]
The uncensored statue in the original Japanese version of the game.
In the original Japanese Dreamcast version of Shenmue II, the statue at the convent was of the Virgin Mary holding Jesus. In the PAL Dreamcast version, it was altered so Jesus is removed, and Mary's hands are crossed on her chest instead. This change was also still intact in the English speech Xbox version of the game and it's 2018 re-release Shenmue I & II. It is unknown why this change was made, and it has never been officially confirmed by Sega or Yu Suzuki. It could possibly be due to Sega not wanting to promote any forms of religion, for people who don't believe in God or Jesus.

In Shenmue the Animation Episode 11, the original statue with Mary holding Jesus is present when Xiuying brings Ryo to the convent after fighting Dou Niu.
