The Winning Can is a soda can that is won randomly while buying soda at the Drink Vending Machines in the games Shenmue and Shenmue II. There is a 1/10 chance of winning it.
In Shenmue, it can be traded in for a free raffle ticket at the Abe Store, Tomato Convenience Store, or Harbor Lounge. It also could be exchanged for a VMU icon and animation of any character in the game for the VMU mini-game Shenmue Goodies through the Shenmue Passport disc when it could still be connected to the internet. In the game's 2018 re-release Shenmue I & II, it can only be traded for a free raffle ticket as the passport and VMU features aren't available in the re-release.
In Shenmue II, a random Virtua Fighter capsule toy will be awarded inside the can. The only toys that can be obtained are the first variant of each character in the original Virtua Fighter set, and Dural Silver and Dural Gold which are the rarest. After receiving the prize, Ryo can get another can at no additional cost.
